If you attended The 2009 Great Reno Balloon Race and have a photo you’d like to submit, you’ve come to the right place. Please review the rules, and remember this contest is for amateur photographers only. The contest will end Oct. 1, 2009, so get your photos submitted early. Best of luck, and thanks for coming out to The Great Reno Balloon Race!
•All entrants must be amateur photographers (no income derived from the sale of photographs) and provide proof (tax records) if asked.
•Entries must be submitted online at www.reno.com
•Entries must be uploaded no later than Friday, Oct. 1, 2009.
•Photos must be of the 2009 event and taken and owned by the entrant.
•All winning photos will become the property of The Great Reno Balloon Race and reproduction rights will be obtained for only one year. Any negatives or slides will remain the winner’s property.
•A person may enter as many pictures as he or she wishes.
•No digitally manipulated photos will be accepted.
•Winners will be notified on or about Oct. 15, 2009. Winners will be announced in the Sierra Nevada Media Group newspapers (see a list here) and on Reno.com on Oct. 20, 2009. Also, all entrants will receive an e-mail announcing the winners.
1st Place Prize
A free balloon ride at the 2010 Great Reno Balloon Race, along with an official 2010 Balloon Race jacket. Additionally, the 1st place winning photo will be published in the official 2010 Balloon Race program. (Winner must be at least 18 years old to ride in a balloon at the event. The balloon ride is non-tranferrable.)
2nd Place Prize
An official 2010 Balloon Race jacket. The 2nd place photo will be published in the official program of the 2010 Great Reno Balloon Race.
3rd Place Prize
$50 of Balloon Race funny money, which can be used to purchase official Balloon Race souvenirs. The 3rd place photo will be published in the 2010 Great Reno Balloon Race official program.
